Eat– for Good Health
My grandchildren, Roxanne (5) and D’mitri (9) don’t like sweets. They like to make them. What kid doesn’t enjoy hands-on? I had already served a healthy light dinner of Tex-Mex turkey, stuffed potatoes with fat-free cream cheese, green beans, and a nut-fruit tossed salad. Here was out after dinner activity–Rice Krispie Pumpkins. They are really cute! Our kids had fun, ate just at bite. They didn’t want to take them home, and after they left, we threw them away!

Heck yeah, the kids weren’t hungry. Bet D’mitri made his pumpkin balls really tight because he plays baseball. Our Max and Jake would!
Yup! We also had colored jelly beans for decorating. It’s a lot of fun to make a big mess.
I mark the start of fall with the huge mess of carving pumpkins.
Janessa, a neighbor once told me she baked pumpkin pies out the jack-o-lanterns her kids carved– sounded disgusting. Who wants to eat pumpkin pies made from old carved up pumpkins?
Oh wow, so many ideas develop around us that we don’t want.
Come on, Reba– it’s fun to hop on a trend. Give the pumpkin pie from a half rotten jack-o-lantern a whirl.
Ha ha, good to know we aren’t on the fence over some things.
