    Thanks, Janessa. There’s an old adage about that, but positive visualization about our ability to accomplish something really works. We need to see ourselves as successful.

    That palomino on the plaque reminds me of the horse Honey that you wrote into MAIL ORDER HUNTRESS– in the Black Roots and Cowboy Boots anthology.

    Yup– “Honey” was Benjamin Thundercloud Stahl’s horse. He was based on historical fact– escaped slaves were welcomed into Native American tribes in the Everglades.

    The Seminoles turned them into black Indians. Of all the stories in BLACK ROOTS AND COWBOY BOOTS, your cowboy had the most angst.
