Eat– for Good Health

Do you wish it were easier to turn weight-loss resolutions into reality?  It is with strategies.  Just for you, we’ve compiled seven secrets and tucked them into a little gold suitcase for you to carry in your head.  The secrets are real, but the suitcase is fictional.  Practicing them, you will be transformed from an ordinary dieter to an unstoppable superwoman.   Your resolve and also your body will get stronger every day.  As fat melts away, your energy will go up.   Avoid empty calories from high-fruitose syrup and sugar which sets off a chain reaction that increases one’s appetite for junk and decreases a desire for movement.   Your body chemistry will adjust.   If you go without anything sweet for a week, your body forgets and begins to crave what you’ve been eating– your appetite will want an apple if that’s what you start eating.

In our book GOLD STANDARD OF THIN, I talk a bit about my friend who lost 135 pounds.  She ate a salad every day, a huge one with unlimited greens and vegetables but with 4 oz. cooked salmon, turkey or chicken breast.  To make yours fancy, add 6 chopped walnuts.  Use any low calorie dressing for a magnificent and filling-for-four hours chopped salad.

Kathleen, I, too, know the huge quantity of salad our friend K. ate everyday. K. made it in a large mixing bowl. She used an entire head of lettuce. This huge salad and also soup worked for her.

Soup is of extreme importance, and I have a number of recipes in GOLD STANDARD OF THIN. A favorite is Woodbridge Spa Soup. Another is Verona Vegetable Bean Soup. They’re so low calorie that a person can eat as many bowls as they want.

Know what? I love being thin. But, I love to eat. Thanks for the ideas, Kathleen, because I’ve been bored with what I’ve been eating lately. Love your book.

Your recipe section is huge– well over a hundred fabulous recipes. You really should open up a spa or something. I could eat there every day.

Reba, since I love to cook and putter around in the kitchen, I really have to be careful. Both daughter Janice and I had twenty pounds to lose, and that’s what got us going!

Absolutely, Mary Alice because here is THE FORMULA. In order to lose weight, a person needs to multiply their PRESENT WEIGHT by 7 to get the number of daily calories. If a woman weighs 135, that multiplied by 7 is 945. That woman needs to be on a thousand calorie daily allotment to lose weight. Not much, so great care needs to go into it. Food must be delicious and filling.
