Exercise– for Body and Spirit

You can do it!  Get on tract to a sleeker, healthier body in just fourteen days and create habits in twenty-one that will carry you to the end of your fitness makeover.   I guarantee you will start shopping for pretty belts that show off a thinner you.

You may have heard the new fitness buzzword, eccentric training. This applies to any strength workout. To get fitter faster by improving strength, fitness expert Chris Freytag advises a 2-week porgram based on a slow-motion technique.  For instance, instead of lifting and lowering weights for two counts each, double the lengthening “eccentric” phase of the exercise.  Picture yourself doing a biceps curl twice as slowly.  Chris Freytag says each muscle fiver works harder, so you get firmer faster.  In one study, women who did eccentric training for just 1 week increased their strength nearly twice as much as those who lifted weights at a normal pace.   A balanced workout that includes both cardio and  strength workouts will rev up results that sculp your gorgeous body.

Chris Freytag encourages people to get out and run in colder weather months. She’s motivating and cute. Very positive.

It does feel wonderful to get outside. That’s why I look forward to swimming– not this week, though with our thunderstorms.

Yesterday, with the tornado warning and sixty mile per hour wind, I stayed inside. Dinner was what I had in the cupboards and refrigerator. I thawed frozen turkey, cut it into strips, and made a salad with some pasta and vegetables on greens. My husband thought it was a great new recipe, ha ha.

I have a Pilate DVD that I like. By the way, it is very slow motion, much like the Chris Freytag’s eccentric training.

Reba, I know you like your stationary bike that sits right in front of your TV. Perfect spot. Actually, even though it was sprinkling this morning I did some heavy duty gardening. My beach grass clumps became huge and overpowered a row of tiger lilies in front. I cut them way back, and it took about an hour. Then I took the dogs on a run which they really enjoyed.
