People craft– getting along with yourself

Now here’s a surprise.  Motherhood lowers blood pressure.  A new Brigham Young University study found that parenthood (yeah, guys, you too) is associated with lower blood pressure, but it is particularly true among women.  All other things being equal, moms scroed 12 points lower than non-moms in systolic blood pressure (the top number) and 7 points lower than women without children in diastolic blood pressure.

  1. Other research backing this up offers this explanation for lower blood pressure among parents– their kids bring them into social, cultural, and recreational activities with other people.

A co-worker of mine is 45 and pregnant, and she sited this study. Apparently women who have babies naturally in their 40s or 50s tend to live longer than other women.

Reba, Rob and I are going the international adoption route. We will have our paperwork done in another month. Two social worker visits with interviews are required.
