Eat– for Good Health

Detox with chickpeas!  One cup of this main ingredient in hummus provides you with 150 % of the recommended daily amount of molybdenum, a mineral that traps sulfites which are energy draining preservatives found in packaged foods.  Tasty and hearty, chickpeas are legumes with soluable fiber that soaks up toxins and pollutants!  Hummus makes a great veggie dip.

    Here’s an easy recipe for hummus: get out your blender and fill with a 15.5 oz-can of chickpeas, a garlic clove, cup of sesame seeds if desired, a tsp salt, fresh chopped parsley, and squeeze a lemon wedge. Serve as a dip for vegetables.

  2. Hi Bonnie. Thanks for the idea to put chickpeas in salads. You hail from Nevada, and I imagine you know all about another “live longer food”– pine nuts. A friend who visits here, Janessa, told me that you teach in the physical education department at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I know your fine work in photography.
