Eat– for Good Health

Your family will love Asiago-crusted pork chops and so will your waistline!

Asiago-Crusted Pork Chops

The entree with broccoli and a tossed salad is under 300 calories.

Ingredients for 4 servings:

4 (4-oz) boneless center cut loin pork chops

1 egg white, beaten

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Asiago cheese

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. pepper

1 T. olive oil

4 lemon wedges

2 tsp. chopped fresh thyme

Place pork between 2 sheets of plastic wrap and pound to an even thickness using a meat mallet.  Place egg white in a shallow dish and dip pork.  Dredge in mixture of the rest of the ingredients until pork is coated.  Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.  Cook pork for 4 minutes on a side until lightly browned and cooked through thoroughly.  Squeeze a lemon wedge over each chop and sprinkle with thyme.

For the broccoli– microwave according to package directions or steam.  Make a low calorie sour cream sauce with 1/3 fat free sour cream, 2 T. nonfat milk, and 1 tsp. Dijon mustard.  Drizzle broccoli with sauce.

A common misconception is that home cooked food takes too long. This delicious meal really does take just 15 minutes to prepare. Plus, it is elegant without being pricey.

This is crazy– I have so much security on this machine now that comments are screened out. Don’t worry, friends– I will get this fixed soon! Very sorry.
