When the crew set up Nancy Rubins’ (floor to ceiling) structure of water vessels, they tripped the fire alarm at her show at the Gagosian Gallery, 456 N. Camden Drive in Beverly Hills. Artist Nancy Rubins’ “Skins, Structures and Landmasses” will run from 10 am to 5:30 pm Tuesdays through Saturdays, ending July 9th and the price is free. Art critic for the L.A. Times Jori Finkel tells us that Rubins’ sculpture is going more minimal with aluminum. It’s industrial but because it comes naturally from the earth, aluminum has a certain energy. Nancy Rubins gets her boats from outfitters along the Russian River.
