Let me tell you a volumetric trick.  When high bulk low calorie food (salad!) is added to something typical and appetizing, you feel satisfied.  If you’re in the mood for Mexican but in a super hurry, buy a low fat frozen quesadilla entre.  So much of the seasoning is done for you, and precise portions are key.  A lot of us need help in this area.

While you microwave according to directions, saute some mushrooms in a butter-sprayed pan, insert them, and then serve it over a big bowl of chopped Romaine lettuce and a sliced tomato.

  1. Here are a couple more volumetrics tricks– swap chips or fries for a green salad and a bowl of low-sodium veggie soup. To stretch an Asian-style noodle dish, serve it over sauteed in low-sodium soy sauce, green beans, onion, and red pepper. A (lean cuisine or other) spaghetti or lasagna entre tastes great over spinach sauteed with cooking spray. Low calorie mac ‘n cheese is delicious with asparagus.

    Hey Becky, all anyone needs to lose weight (and keep it off) is patience. Have faith and stick with it. Everyone who does will lose weight, and it will be worth it.
