Places– of Charm

If snowed in or too busy to attend a showing, L.A.’s evolutionary photographer Teddy Meyer now has a website http://teddymeyerphotography.com/

Each photo is like a room; click and more photos like it tumble out such as the four photos below, inside”Two Nickels and a Dime”.  Meyer is known for his cubist-derived signature style.  Linear swoops of urban color play hide-and-seek but never get lost. Exotic beauties, tossed into textured space look as if they’re awakening from a sensuous dream.   Sometimes figures dissolve in shimmering reflections of themselves (see Thai wedding) making the viewer want to know their thoughts.  The stunning model in “Early Autumn” is Meyer’s girlfriend who is (like him) an RN.

Kathleen, I have been a huge admirer of Meyer’s work for awhile. I think one of the Urban Outfitters in L.A. regularly displays his photos.

Meyer’s photos tell a story. In one of his woman-centered photos I imagined a drip of rain as actually dripping. Amazing and emotional, almost like tears.
