Wake up happier! One way to lift your spirits when you wake up in the morning is with an inexpensive bunch of flowers from the super market. Harvard scientists found that women who wake up and see/smell colorful blooms feel happier and have lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol. One of my favorite scents that I stick into bouquets is eucalyptus. If you don’t have access to it, try looking for it in lotions.
Another way to amp your energy with a free boost is water. Overnight we lose about 2% water, and this slight dehydration is enough to cause grogginess. Water will get you going.
