People appreciation

On the advice of my friend Mary Alice Tallmadge, I headed down to Dana Point yesterday to attend a (free!) seminar about wills and trusts presented by attorney Jan Alcide, Attorney at LawNeedless to say, I learned a lot since it was a full-on Introductory Course in Estate Planning with terms and concepts so clearly and effortlessly explained by this expert.  Having put herself through law school by writing wills and trusts for an attorney, Jan knows every complexity and answered questions that were at times, way out in left field.  If you know Mary Alice, she experienced a nightmare after her parents passed away without a trust.  The kind of family strife she experienced would not have had to happen, and of course the real grim reaper was the probate taxes.

Glad you took our advice, Kathleen. Jan Alcide is capable and also very nice. She takes time with her clients. So often lawyers glance at their watches when you’re talking with them. That’s not the case here because she wants to get down to every detail.

Janessa, you guys need a trust because you own property, but some young couples with kids might just need a will, Jan explained. But they definately need one to specify a guardian for their children. A will is not a big expense but so important for the welfare of the kids.

Hi Kathleen, I was just searching the web and came across your post about my seminar. I want to thank you sincerely for coming and furthermore, for blogging about it. I am very happy to know that I was helpful in informing you. Keep looking on my website for our next upcoming seminar. Hope you, Mary and a few of your other friends can join us.
