Here’s how to get to (and stay!) at your optimum weight– plan wonderful meals before feeling famished. Friends, when I was young and unaware of the calories, I used to adore McDonald’s fish sandwich. Guess I liked full-fat tartar sauce and the deep fried taste of the filet. Now I enjoy an alternative that tastes sublime– using Gorton’s Italian Herb Fish. I also include a fields mixed green salad: 2 cups mixed salad greens, 7 baby carrots, 6 cherry tomatoes, 1/2 tbsp. olive oil, 2 tsp. balsamic vinegar (or substitute your fave low calorie dressing). Last week I discovered Sprouts’ Flaxseed whole wheat bread which is 50 cals a slice and very flavorful.
- 1 serving Gorton’s Italian Herb Grilled Fillet (100 calories)
- 1 whole wheat hamburger bun (small) or two slices light bread
- 1 tomato slice
- 2 lettuce leaves
Prepare fish according to package instructions. Place cooked fish on bun and top with lettuce and tomato. Serve.
