Eat– for Good Health

Friends, a light tuna sandwich is fine made with lighter bread, but for losing weight fast, a low cal tuna salad is even better.  That’s right, lose the wheat and lose weight.  Milwaukee cardiologist William Davis MD discovered (maybe rediscovered) this miracle.  Typical overweight patients can lose weight if they cut out carbs.  Some of his patients lost 30 pounds in thirty days.  Replace wheat products (bread, pasta, cereal–anything made with wheat) with fruits and vegetables.  I mix a can of tuna with low fat mayo, add chopped celery, green onion, tomato, and serve on a bed of greens.  Instead of a little toast, I enjoy melon.

  1. Of course it works. My advice is to take a daily vitamin since the Bs are contained in grains. However, the overweight population doesn’t go for whole grains anyway. I’d warn the ice cream eaters– high fat dairy should be cut as well.

  2. Reba, make EGGPLANT BAKE: layer thick slices of eggplant in a baking dish, top with tomato sauce, low fat mozzarella, season to taste, and bake at 350 degrees until eggplant is cooked through. This preparation method cuts calories– the traditional recipe for eggplant is to bread and fry it.
