A sprinkle of sage is just what turkey needs to taste exciting along with a rubbing of cranberries. Of course it’s lovely in stuffing, too. Sage can also be sprinkled around in basements to repel spiders. I’m a dried sage enthusiast. These little sprigs also have beneficial compounds in concentration. It’s no coincidence that the word “sage” means wisdom. New research proves the sage herb boosts brainpower, preserves memory, and lowers risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Kathleen, I stock sage, but my favorite herb is clove. They have an aromatic sweetness. Cloves are nice in a sweet potato casserole and in gingerbread.
Mary Alice, I’ve read cloves are a powerful natural anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial that kills germs before they make us sick.
We’re going to season our way to a healthier holiday. I need to give cinnamon a pitch. A teaspoon a day lowers blood glucose levels in diabetes and regulates natural insulin production.
