Wordsmith– I also write books

If you’re a writer, you know a book review is worth its weight in gold.  I write in the genre of multicultural romantic suspense with a heat level of 4.  This is a high heat level still falls into the category of a monogamous couple in love, but sexual activity is of the show-not-tell graphic nature.  Here is my latest review of DEEDS TO DECEIT from Anya of Paper Dragon Ink:

Wow!  This novella is spicy.  I must include the statement “For adult readers only”.  The story is well written, a concise plot line and actually detailed for its length.  Bayliss and Byron make a wonderful couple moving from antagonizing each other to working together against the bigger antagonist.

Bayliss is practically a recluse in her family home years after her parents’ death.  Byron is now Sherriff of the town below the family home but also executor of her parents’ estate.  While they have a kind of love/hate relationship, pranksters and Mother Nature decide to make the two face each others impact on their lives.  We watch as they survive and go on.

I actually enjoyed this story and look forward to more from Ms. Rowland.  The only warning is regarding some explicit descriptions that really should remain for adults only.  This book is not just for women although romance is a small part of it.  The action in it can keep some of you guys interested I am sure.

Kathleen, I was checking out how much used books for Deeds of Deceit are selling for– some for $35 in Europe. That’s pretty high!

Jill, it’s absolutely nuts. Postage must have something to do with it. One thing is true, a romantic suspense with heat level of 4 is in high demand.

Hi Mary Alice, yup, that was nice. Reviewer Antya needed to say “for adults only” because Paper Dragon Ink also reviews young adult. I appreciated her saying that. It’s a good review that is making sales skyrocket!!

Kathleen, my guess is that the $35 books are selling in the middle east– many people read and write English and crave a bold romance.

Hello Ayanna and welcome! That is right, Amihan finds something belonging to her late companion. It’s bad and her situation becomes unstable just when she’s getting control of her finances. Thank you for your enthusiasm. I am a slow writer compared to some. Plus I’m going to be teaching an online class for Savvy Authors in March– I’ll spend most of my time helping other writers.

Welcome to you also, Zoie. Thank you for visiting here today. I remember we met at Storytellers Soiree last month! To answer your question, Zoie, Amihan (who was heroine Bayliss Jones best friend in Deeds of Deceit) was a mail order bride. She and Larry Creswell married in the Philippines but he (the dirty rat) did not apply for a marriage license in the U.S.! When he was killed in a drive-by shooting, she was surprised to learn their marriage was a sham.
