I’m posting the recipe I promised yesterday for oven-roasted Brussels Sprouts. You want them crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The secret for killing the sprouts’ bitterness is the peppery and sweet Taste of Cyprus spice blend from the condiment line, gustusvitae.com. Paprika gives it a reddish appearance.
Ingredients: 1 lb. Brussels sprouts, 3 tbsp. olive oil, 2 1/2 tsp. Gustus Vitaie’s Taste of Cyprus.
Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut off loose leaves and dry stems. Mix ingredients in a large bowl. Place in a roasting pan and roast for 35 minutes. During cooking, give the pan a couple of shakes in order to turn sprouts for even roasting. Remove and dust with sprinkles of spice blend. Serve immediately.
