Eat– for Good Health

You don’t have to be perfect to enjoy perfect health! Let’s face it, no one is. Despite our best intentions to stay healthy, but sometimes we slip up. When I don’t have time to swim laps, I get on my bike or walk. Did you find French fries impossible to resist? Protect your blood pressure with blueberries. Fatty foods (French fries, pizza) raise your blood pressure, but if you indulge in blueberries, polyphenols stop artery-squeezing inflammation.  Did you forget sunscreen? Drink coffee! The Journal of the National Cancer Institute study reveals that coffee decreases a skin cancer risk by 20%!

Crazy that my favourite morning beverage is brimming with skin protective compounds! What are they, anyway?

Dash, they’re polyphenols, diterpenes, trigoneline, and caffeine– all protect skin from damaging UVB rays!

I love blueberries in all forms– fresh, wild– in smoothies and in steal-cut oatmeal. Nice to know they make blood vessels relax! By the way, Kathleen, I see you’ve taken over your daughter Janice’s beach cruiser!
